Hello World. Having a job and trying to be a productive artist is difficult, but I'm trying to be a productive painting maniac. I'm currently working on a bunch of commissions for (my very patient and lovely) patron who requested 5 pieces. I'll throw up some in progress photos of two drawings/paintings. Things have been evolving lately, which is good, but at the same time I think of things faster than I can get them on paper/wood/canvas! The themes sort of remain similar however, I can't get past horns, ladies, animals and warrior types, and I don't think I ever want to. Horns and warriors for life.
I had a lovely walk around San Rafael the other day, partly because I got three dresses for $20 at Goodwill, but mostly because I found this book. Bev Doolittle is an artist after my heart with her absolutely badass watercolor paintings. The imagery has a direct line to my spirit bone:
